This picture is a small bridge leading to the beach in Wells, Maine. There is an interesting composition. The railing of the bridge creates strong leading lines, leading your eyes down the center of the photo. The texture of the rocks and the wood of the bridge creates a nice contrast of textures. The depth of the photo is created because of the leading lines of the railing. This photo has a shutter speed of 1/950 sec. The ISO is 32. There is a large depth of field. This picture has an interesting point of view, the camera is almost parallel with the boardwalk. There is a sense of discovery, and adventure created by the lines, almost welcoming you to what is at the end of the bridge. There is a sense of wonder caused by the focal point of the photo, the end of the bridge in the center of the photo.

Sunset Serenity
This picture is taken on Tispaquin Pond, in Middleboro. The horizontal line separating the lake and the land creates contrast between the sky and the texture of the lake. There is positive and negative space with the difference between the trees, tree line, boat and the sky and water. The texture of the water is highlighter because you are unable to see the texture of the trees, so your eye focuses on the texture of the water ripples. This picture has a shutter speed of 1/450 sec. The ISO is 32. The light from the sunset caused the camera to focus on the sunset, versus the trees, etc. The placement of the boat in the frame is almost as if the boat wanted to have a picture taken of it. I was standing above the beach and dock, looking down on the water and the boat. This is a simple picture, which makes it compelling to the eye. There is a sense of peace, and serenity, and calmness created with this shot, especially because of the subtle ripples in the water.

This picture was taken in Maine as well, on a street with little shops and boutiques. The repetition of the shape of the flower makes the picture interesting. The fact that the background of the picture is out of focus, forces your eye to look at the flower versus the leaves in the background. The shape of the flowers looks almost unrealistic in a way. This photo has a shutter speed of 1/1,250 sec. The ISO is 32. The strong natural lighting of the picture helps define the texture of the flowers. The shape of the plant as a whole makes the composition interesting. The pictures creates a sense of happiness with the color purple among the green.
